“It does not matter how slowly you go as long as you do not stop.”― Confucius
My 13 year old daughter created this short animation. It’s not just a beautiful piece of digital art, (ok #proudmom here) but it also captures the spirit of creativity.
It’s the result of making space to create, and sacrificing the instant gratification of watching endless shows on YouTube or Netflix. We’re not very strict but we do require our kids to have protected time for creativity. Even if they won’t become professional artists some day, we want them to practice being confident creators. I know this will sound out there to some, but I truly believe creativity will separate my children from A.I.’s that will compete with them for jobs someday.
Children are our future. We’re just trying to set ours up so they can help create a better world. Maybe put forth seeds of inspiration for a more hopeful tomorrow—like bathalas or gods of small things.
