Creative problem solving
I had this old Murakami poster I picked up years ago when he had a big installation at Grand Central Terminal. I had it rolled up in storage for many years before recently deciding I’d like to hang it again.
However, being the cheapskate that I am, I wasn’t about to get a custom frame. I got a standard frame at Michael’s (70% off!) but it was way too big. So the problem— how to camouflage the gap? A little left over construction paper, scissors and glue…

Okay, the result of this weekend project is not perfect (I couldn’t exactly match the colors with the paper I already had) but I’m pleased with it, for now.
An exercise in creative problem solving and hanging an art piece that brings you joy is time never wasted.
