Their love

Wanted to grow up
Wanted to break free
Now I want to go back
To the arms that cradled me.

Snuck in last night
Into the nursery
Found out the crib was
Too small for me.

Pushed your hands away
To prove I was ready
But I didn’t want you
To let go already.

I may appear grown
But I’m still a baby
I want to crawl on your lap
To hear a bedtime story.

But I can’t come
If you don’t call
Please draw me near
When night time falls.

As the house goes still
You may not be aware
A girl sometimes
Will get scared.
